Once more the 'Diamond Princess' visited Keelung. Some of the 2600 cruise passengers from Europe, The Americas and Asia took a seven hour shopping tour to Taipei 101 with me. Here are some memories of the ship's arrival in the early morning of October 12, 2008
Watching from my balcony at night, it was quite impressive to see the large ship back up slowly to make a 180 degree turn in less than 3 minutes before heading out to sea: the Princess Swing, a procedure inaugurated by Diamond Princess in Keelung port.
It was not the first visit:
Diamond Princess inaugural visit to Taiwan was featured in Apple Daily, Taiwan's largest newspaper and local TV stations followed us around. Most of the 2700 passengers received a gift package before returning to the ship. Here's a happy Canadian teacher from my group
